AirBorne
has had kit XT-582s and XT-912s available for some time now but
they weren't much of a kit. Essentially the buyer got the same
"kit" the dealer got. All they had to do was install the
landing gear, prop, and take the wing out of short-pack and
you were ready to fly. These "kits" had already been assembled
at the factory and test flown so there wasn't much in the way of
savings. In the radio control model world these type of kits are
called ARFs or Almost Ready to Fly kits.
While the "ARFs" are still available AirBorne is now making the XT-582 available in a real kit. Very little fabricating is required -- it is mostly assembly. And it is available in five (5) independent modules or stages. So you can buy a stage at a time. Here are the kit highlights:
